Copyright

All material within the BDFL website and listed in the BDFL catalogue remains Crown copyright, and as such may not be gifted, copied, lent or sold, or have access provided to unauthorised persons without prior written agreement from BDFL.

BDFL has a sales division whose sole purpose is to commercially exploit MOD training material for use by Foreign Governments, Commercial Companies, Government Agencies and any other interested parties. Revenue from this source directly benefits the training directorates. Therefore, all authorised users have a duty to prevent unauthorised distribution and use of the material. Should authorised users receive an enquiry or be in any doubt as to whether a request can be met, then reference should be made to the BDFL Customer Services department.

There are potentially heavy penalties (including fines up to £50,000) for infringements of copyright on any material bought by BDFL should it be misused. This applies particularly to training material bought off the shelf from sources such as the Health and Safety Executive, where limitations on showing have been agreed. Any cases of doubt should be referred to BDFL for clarification.
