BFBS Canada Ice Action

Ice Hockey is something of a religion in Canada; teams like the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canuks are on a par with the likes of Man. Utd. and Chelsea back home.

Like Premiership grounds in the UK, the big Ice Hockey stadiums have big sound systems, announcers and everything else to provide music and information for the fans.
Smaller stadiums don't usually have such luxuries but one exception is that of the Ralston Arena, home to the BATUS Hockey League for the British Forces in Suffield.

Inside the arena BFBS Canada as a booth and sound system that many much bigger arenas would (and do) envy. From inside the booth a team of BFBS staff and volunteers from the military community crank out the tunes and the information.

Goals are celebrated with loud horns and a 'victory tune' unique to each team.

If you find yourself in Suffield and fancy joining the Ice Action team call the BFBS Station Manager, Patrick Eade on 544 4104.
