Jazzy Geoff Allen pops in for a visit

Jazzy Geoff Allen

Jazzy Geoff Allen popped into the Breakfast Show and entertained the listeners in his own inimitable style!

You can hear Geoff's Richard and Gini 'rap' here

Cyprus Youth Service

Richard Hatch

Andy Hill presented Richard with a plaque for services to the Cyprus Youth Service. Richard said "My achievement wall is beginning to get a little crowded  - what with my Cycling Proficiency badge and 4th place certificate for the under 9's Egg and Spoon race!!

Gini's Basrah Blog can be viewed here

In 2007 Richard and Gini made a charity record called "Do They Know It's Wireless for the Blind", and they formed a pressure group called "Air Cond" who marched to Limassol parading banners to complain about air coolers masquerding as air conditioners. They also gave away real moustache clippings from the beard of SAS hero Andy Mcnab plus a signed certificte of authenticity to make it easy to sell on Ebay!  Finally they interviewed Elvis, showcased local bands and span the ceramic Wheel of Fortune.

What on earth will happen in 2008?!

Karaoke Roulette

Philippa Harris

Philippa Harris from Akrotiri entertained us as she stuttered her way through "Rivers of Babylon"!!  She claimed not to know the song but valiantly carried on through her laughter and tears!!  However, 2 minutes was long enough and we pulled the plug on her to save the listeners ears!!  Only joking Philippa.

If you fancy your chances on the Karaoke just give us a call on (2527) 8518 and you could be "Spinning the Roulette Wheel" next week

Kirstie Kavanagh 'does' Cher!

The half term school holidays gave us the chance to hear 14 year old Kirstie Kavanagh from Episkopi belt out the Cher classic "If I could Turn Back time".

A member of SPACE Theatre Kirstie lists singing as one of her favourite pastimes - we can see why - Fantastic job - Well done!!

Michaela Ackerman

The Human League was the featured artist in our Karaoke Roulette this week. Michaela Ackerman, despite a few pitching problems at first (as Simon Cowell would say!)did a really good job with "Don't You Want Me?".  Well done!

Kim Sings!

Kim Jones from Episkopi took to the microphone with a version of Phil Collins' "Against All Odds" - Well done Kim!

Graham Cooper does Karaoke

Graham Cooper was our first 'victim' and after spinning the roulette wheel gave a rather 'interesting' rendition of Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer'!  Well done Coops.

WFTB Wacky Races Tour 2007

The tour was a blast - we visited the HIVES around the island with our racing cockroaches and there were non-starters, steward's enquiries and tears - and that was just from us!

The 3 Amigos

3 Amigos and MC Holmes

We adopted Lisa Holmes from Ay Nik to become the 4th Amigo!!

Winners were:

Monday:         Sarah Lloyd (Doris) - with "Snow Roach"

Tuesday:        62 Cyprus Support Sqn - with "Fergus Palmer"

Gini struts her stuff on the catwalk!

Gini Carlin struts her stuff

Akrotiri Ladies recently held a charity fashion show in the WO and Sgts' Mess and with the help of Gini, who strutted her stuff on the catwalk and Helen Head and Brian Nero who compered the evening, they managed to raise over £2000 for Base childrens causes.  Well done everyone.
