BFBS Gurkha Radio goes live to the world from BFBS Kathmandu.
British Gurkhas serving anywhere in the world can now catch up
with all the events from their home, Nepal, in a new daily, two
hour live programme from our studios in Kathmandu.
Kishore
Gurung and the BFBS Kathmandu team
are on air Monday to Friday from 09.00 – 11.00 GMT, on
line at www.bfbs.com and right across the BFBS Gurkha Radio network.
BFBS Gurkha Radio has been on the air around the world for over
fifty years and is a vital link with home for British Gurkhas everywhere.
The network has studios in Kathmandu, Brunei and Shorncliffe.
Currently,
BFBS Gurkha Radio goes out live to Gurkhas in Shorncliffe, Bramcote,
Catterick, Maidstone, Sandhurst, Brecon and York in the UK. Outside
of the UK we have dedicated transmitters in Bosnia, Afghanistan,
Iraq and Brunei.
Working in partnership
with Radio Nepal, Gurkha soldiers are also able to exchange messages
and dedications with friends and family anywhere in Nepal on the
weekly family favourites programme 'Pardeshi Ko Sandesh'. This programme
is produced and presented by our station manager in Kathmandu and
veteran broadcaster of some thirty-five years, Kishore Gurung.
