Nick Ritchie

Nick’s been working for BFBS since 1992, when he strolled into the Herford studios in Germany, armed with a CV, that included a former jobs as a Steam Engine Driver and London Planetarium show presenter.

For 8 years he presented the Network weekly specialist shows ‘Passion For Plastic’ & ‘At The Edge’ from areas as diverse as Germany, Kosovo & Belize.

After 4 years in SE Asia at BFBS Brunei working alongside the Gurkhas (mainly on the Breakfast Show), 2008 has seen Nick move across the world to another jungle – presenting daily shows from Belize.

Being a massive Paul Weller fan, a highlight of working for BFBS has been interviewing the Modfather, and recording his live concert for broadcast. Cramming The Waterboys into his JHQ studio for a live performance and chat was a rare treat; plus ‘head to heads’ with Stereophonics, Feeder, Gene & Catatonia, have all been a lot of fun.

His passion for football has seen him complete over 300 matches playing for Panaga FC in Brunei. The boots are not being hung up yet though, as he’s had the call up for BATSUB in Belize. He’s also a loyal QPR fan – come on the R’s!
