Following a successful
GB junior athletics career, Jessie discovered that she had a passion for
sport, music and the media, so decided to combine them all! So she began
her radio career by volunteering on a community radio station in her home
town of Liverpool while studying for her A Levels. She then upped sticks
and moved from to London, bagged herself a degree or two and then landed
her first job writing for BBC Sport Online.
She then moved to BBC London’s new sports service working as a sports
reporter. So it was a dream come true when she was asked to present a
show on the BBC’s station for the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
One of her career highlights to date is presenting a live show on stage
in front of 5,000 people in the run up to England v Argentina World Cup
match. “It was such a buzz especially when I suggested to 5,000
Manchester United fans that their favourite England player was Michael
Owen, I was nearly dragged off the stage!” She also likes to keep-fit
by playing volleyball and cycling almost everywhere she goes so look out
for her whizzing by on a street near you!
