Khem Gurung

Having served 25 years in the Brigade of Gurkhas, Khem first joined BFBS as a Broadcast Engineer. Because he had interests in music, movies and broadcasting he didn’t stop there and went on to become a broadcaster too. As an engineer/broadcaster he worked in Hong Kong, Dharan (East-Nepal), Church Crookham (Hampshire) and Brunei.

He was educated in India and Nepal, but even after joining the British Army he continued his studies in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and the UK.

When Shorncliffe became the main station for BFBS Gurkha Radio in December 2001, he left the Far-East and moved to Shorncliffe to take the post of Programme Director BFBS Gurkha Radio (Worldwide). And later in May 2006, he became General Manager BFBS Gurkha Radio.
