Rory Higgins

 

 

 

Rory Higgins joined BFBS in 1985 after a free-lance career as a journalist and presenter in the Far East. With BFBS he has served in the Falklands, Cyprus, Germany, Hong Kong and the Balkans. He was the last Programme Director of BFBS Hong Kong, which he closed on the night of the handover of the colony to China.

Rory is the BFBS Radio Defence & Features Editor. His job is to provide a more detailed analysis on the military scene for news and other sequence programmes. In the past year he has covered the changes in defence policy outlined in the 'new chapter of the strategic defence review', NATO
enlargement and he was one of the BFBS embedded war correspondents in the recent Gulf conflict. He reported from 2RTR battlegroup and HQ 7 Brigade.
