Yograj Rai

I am a member of the British Army serving with the 69 Gurkha Field Squadron the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers. It’s my fourteenth year with the Regiment. I served in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Bosnia, the Falkland Islands, Macedonia, Cyprus, Germany, Kuwait and Iraq during my career. The time I have spent in the Army, and the people I've met along the way, has been wonderful.

I’d always dreamt of becoming a Radio presenter when I joined the Army back in 1991. To that end, it’s a great honour for me to serve with BFBS Gurkha Radio, Shorncliffe, as a presenter and producer. I look forward to hearing your comments, or anything regarding my programmes.

I enjoy travelling to new places, play volleyball, and seeing people from different cultures. I’m married to Helen Rai, and we have two children named Mary Joy Cabuso Rai and Jayson Rai.
