Radio 2, Much More from March 31st!
Recent audience research has revealed that the ideal BFBS Radio
2 has more speech, and a mixture of classics and Gold music.
In Cyprus only, Nigel Rennie will continue his popular Breakfast
Show each weekday.
Richard Astbury is back on daytime BFBS Radio 2. Richard brings
his successful Classic Weekend Breakfast format to a new time
0900-1000, Monday to Friday. Richard's weekend programme will
still be there, with the best of the week's classical selections.
Dave Windsor has always entertained with his specialist knowledge
of Gold music, and with the station now bringing classic hits
from 1965-1995 Dave's programme (1000-1300 UKT) is ideally placed
during the workday, and full of information about the forces world.
Glen Mansell has been presenting a lively and in-depth forces
focused programme at the new time of 1330-1700 UKT for the past
few months. Glen & Will continue to reflect worldwide forces
life and topical defence issues from their base in JHQ in Germany,
and will bring music to remember from our catalogue of familiar
classic oldies.
Audience research said BFBS Radio 2 should bring more news across
the day. The station will broadcast Today, BBC News on the hour,
The World At One, PM and the Six O'clock News.
The new line up has even more sport coverage form Five Live and
some extra surprises at the weekend. There's a new Saturday morning
programme “The Week On 2” with Dusty Miller, which will brings
the best of the forces week from around the world in two hours.
