Appendix B
Information required by the Satellite Dish installer

- If you are within the red contour on the map above you require an 85cm offset dish with suitable mount. The Low Noise Block (LNB) is to be a Universal LNB with an LO of 9.75GHz.
- The satellite is EutelSat W3A at orbital position 7deg east
- The downlink frequency is 11.3245 GHz
- The customer is supplied with a BFBS PACE satellite set-top box that is automatically tunes to the BFBS broadcasts upon switch on. It is important that the satellite signal is present at the PACE unit input prior the unit being turned on. The services are encrypted and the customer has a smartcard that must be inserted in to the unit and activated by calling the SSVC helpline. The contact details are given in the Contacts section of this document.
- The handbook with the Pace unit has been specifically written for BFBS and contains full installation and setup instructions
- If the encryption card is not activated whilst you are present you will be able to check that all is aligned by selecting channel 11 on the PACE unit. BFBS Radio will be audible if all is OK. If you do not have a pace box you will need to change to the RADIO pages of the available channels and choose any channel which does NOT start with a "*" or *R2* and you will be able to hear BFBS Radio.
