BFBS Satellite Television - Private Accommodation

If you are an entitled person living in Private Accommodation in Cyprus, and want to receive BFBS multi-channel television, you will need to arrange to have a satellite dish aerial installed on your property. The costs and the obtaining of any necessary permissions are your responsibility.

Bear in mind that a dish can be mounted on the ground if it has a clear view of the satellite. It does not have to be high up! The dish will need a clear view of the sky, approximately to the South West, at an upward angle of about 40°. Your installer will need to know that the satellite used by BFBS is Eutelsat W3a, which is located at 7° East. The dish should be 100 cm in diameter and the LNB should be a Universal Type.

When your dish has been installed, you will need to collect your viewing card from a BFBS DTH office* at the most convenient location for you. To be issued with your viewing card, you will need to provide proof of your name, address details and your entitlement to receive BFBS. This page will explain the specific details of what it means to be entitled in due course, but watch this space.

Once you have your card you will be able to collect your special BFBS set top box from your local QM (or ESG for Akrotiri). The set top box remains the property of SSVC, and together with the card must be returned when you leave Cyprus or otherwise cease to be entitled to receive BFBS TV.
