Preparing the Set Top Box and Plugging it in

  1. Unpack the contents of box and put the batteries in the remote control
  2. Plug the aerial lead in to the wall socket and the connector on the back of the box marked “cable in”
  3. Connect the cable box to your TV using the supplied scart lead
  4. Turn your TV on and select the video input that the box is connected to

Tuning in the box

Plug the box in to the mains power. If your box does not display the initial screen (see section 2) at first, you need to perform a reset.

1. Restoring Default settings:

Press Menu on the remote control and use the arrows and then OK button to select Installation.

You will then be prompted for a password- enter 0000 using the numbers on the remote control, or your own password if you have changed it.

Then, choose the Default Setting option, press OK, then highlight the Yes box and press OK again.

You will then need to enter the password again.

The box will now reset and go to the first screen.

After reset, the first screen will display a message that the system is loading. Once this is complete, you will follow a series of on-screen menus to set up your box. Use the arrow keys to move to the different choices.

2. Language selection:

The default selection, highlighted by a yellow box, is English. Press OK to select and proceed to the next screen.

3. Area Setting:

With the Country selection bar highlighted, press OK, use the up/down arrow keys to select Germany, then press OK. Then highlight the “Next” box at the bottom of the screen and press OK.

4. Channel Search:

.

Leave the search Type set to Auto, and press OK. After a little while the display will show that it has found channels. Wait until the yellow progressing bar has finished, then press OK to save the channels.

5. Time Setting:

Leave the GMT offset on Auto and press OK with the Next box highlighted.

You will then see a screen that summarises the tuning.

Press OK with the Finish box highlighted.

6: Setting the display format:

Press Menu on the remote to access the options, then highlight Preferences, press OK, and then highlight A/V control option. and press OK.

If you have a “traditional” 4:3 TV:

From the A/V control menu, set the Screen Ratio to 4:3, and the Display format to Auto. Press OK to accept it and then Exit to return.

If you have a widescreen 16:9 TV:

From the A/V control menu, set the Screen Ratio to 16:9, and the Display Format to Auto. Press OK to accept it and then Exit to return.

Your box is now ready to use.
