BFBS DVD Service

The ability of BFBS Television to get where the action is, at the sharp end, is legendary among Forces audiences. The range and possibilities are constantly increasing. But what about isolated units and detachments that fall outside our ever-expanding mainstream reach?

For many isolated groups, including some HM ships, the BFBS  DVD Service provides entertainment and a link to home. Each week, BFBS TV produces over 70 packages of recorded entertainment, mailed across the world through the BFPO network.

How it Works
Allocated on a priority basis by the MOD, the service is designed primarily for the single serviceman/woman overseas. Elegantly simple, the  service consists of eight DVDs containing 24 hours of the best of UK programming.

The DVDs, nominally running from Saturday to Friday – useful for those locations with closed circuit TV systems – contain a mix of light entertainment, sport, drama, sitcom, documentary and quiz programmes.  The eighth DVD – Mainly Soaps – caters for soap fans, guaranteeing a weekly fix of Corrers and EastEnders.

So, if you, or anyone you know, is likely to be posted to wild and remote regions and fancies some of the best of British television, remember the BFBS DVD Service. Please see contact details below.
