| New 7-day BFBS Electronic Programme Guide
If you watch BFBS TV via a Pace satellite
receiveryou can now access a full 7-day EPG - Electronic Programme
Guide - on screen at the touch of a button on your remote.
The BFBS 'Pace' satellite set top box, issued to viewers in
Germany, Cyprus, and other locations in Europe and the Middle
East (under the Eutelsat W3a footprint) is now able to access
the EPG.
Users installing a
new set top box should expect an on screen message 'Please Wait'
and then 'Loading' following signal acquisition. The process can
take up to 20 minutes, during which the receiver should be left
alone. In particular do not de-power the receiver or disconnect
the antenna until the process is complete.
To access the new 7-day EPG, press the 'Guide' button on the
BFBS remote control, then use the arrow keys to navigate to the
desired programme, and press 'Info' for more details. For more
information please see the instructions below.
The EPG is also available to viewers who watch via BFBS digital
cable systems in Germany, or have non-Pace satellite set top boxes.
For DTT viewers in Iraq and Afghanistan, the service is available
at the COB in Iraq and Camp Bastion, Kandahar, Lashkar Gar and
Gereshk in Afghanistan. Whether you can access the EPG or not
will depend on which 'Freeview' box or USB DTT stick you have,
so check your instruction leaflet.
Viewers outside the W3 footprint will not get the EPG at this time.

Setting timers
You can set your BFBS set top box to "wake up" at a
preset time on a preset channel so that you can record a programme.
- Important: You must also set your recorder to record at the
required times, and make sure it is set to record from its "SCART"
input, which must be connected to the VCR socket on the set
top box with a suitable SCART to SCART cable.
- With the programme guide displayed, press blue
(for "More") and a new menu will appear. Select the
programme you want to record, and press 2. The
details will be displayed so that you can edit them if you wish
- for example to start a bit early so as to be sure not to miss
the start of the programme. You can also change either the end
time or the duration, and the other will be calculated. You
do not need to set both. When you are happy, press OK.
- You can set the box to record multiple programmes on any of the channels, but only if they do not overlap in time on different channels. If you try to do this, a screen will ask you which one of two overlapping programmes you want to select.
- Programmes pre-set for recording will appear underlined in red on the EPG display.
- You can cancel a timer setting by selecting the programme
on the EPG and pressing blue,
and then 1 to "Stop Timer". Pressing
3 will allow you to see all the timers that
have been preset. They can also be deleted or edited from this
screen - follow the on screen instructions.
- When you've finished, you can put the BFBS set top box into
standby, and it will turn itself on for the channels and programmes
that you have selected.
