SSVC Technology
BFBS engineers
are unique. With radio studios and transmission systems across the Forces
world, you never know where you are going to be next. The post has an
exceptional variety of tasks and travel possibilities that take you around
the world to the most unusual and exotic locations.
The work provides an unrivalled feeling of fulfilment and satisfaction.
As part of a team we supply TV and Radio to British Armed Forces based
outside the UK, either on operational tour or posted to foreign shores.
From Afghanistan to Ascension, Bosnia to Brunei, from Canada to Kathmandu,
you will put a smile on the faces of the British Armed Forces and their
families.
BFBS’s engineering team, work all parts of the transmission chain,
effectively from DC to light, from the studio microphone to the audience's
radio receiver; covering a variety of disciplines, from designing systems
in project teams, to the installation and maintenance of these same systems
on the ground. You will be part of a hard working team who are always
willing to go that extra mile and give the troops what they deserve.
We are not expecting any applicant to be an expert in every discipline
that we cover. What we are looking for is somebody with a good broadcast
systems/electronics background that has the right attitude and can become
part of the team. The Technology department recognise the importance of
training and personal development and all staff are given the necessary
training and support to enable them to fulfil their job function.
